Setting S.M.A.R.T Goals that will Fuel your Purpose!

Many of us may have set goals but found it hard to see them through or just simply not knowing where to start, but that is okay! We set GOALS to inspire us, not for us to make ourselves feel bad or beat up about it.

Earlier today, I did an Instagram LIVE video @the_womanpreneur_within that discussed ways in which you can set smart goes that will help you at fueling your purpose. The video was brief and no longer available but below are the detailed notes that I used within the video. To avoid missing any of our future videos, follow our Facebook and Instagram pages to stay connected!

There will be a REPLAY of our goal setting video on the website soon!

First, I want you to remember that any goals you set must have a WHY. Once you understand why you are setting your goal, be it personal or professional, then you are almost there.

Secondly, all our goals MUST be in line with our Values and Purpose, because the more our values align with our core being, then they will be much easier to achieve.

and

Third, We MUST set S.M.A.R.T Goals. Smart goals mean goals that are

  • SPECIFIC– meaning you know exactly what you are trying to reach.
  • MEASURABLE– because this will let you know when you have achieved your goal.
  • ACTION–  what am I going to do about reaching my goals.
  • REALISTIC– your goal has to be achievable, and
  • TIME-BOUND– every one of your goals MUST have a deadline!

So, when you focus on the outcome of your goals, you are asking yourselve to dig deeper and find out what it is that you REALLY want.

Are your goals in line with your life’s vision about your lives? What’s really important to you?

YES! There will be OBSTACLES, BUT Whatever your goal is, to achieve it when obstacles do come,

Ask yourself:

DO I HAVE COMPLETE AND TOTAL CONTROL OVER ACHIEVING MY GOAL?

If it is a goal that you may have for your business, consider Asking yourself:

WHAT MIGHT I HAVE TO GIVE UP OR STOP DOING For ME TO REACH MY GOAL?

If your goal is big, BREAK IT DOWN INTO SMALLER GOALS AND GO AT IT ONE STEP AT A TIME.

* And lastly, Create a list of resources that you will need to help you at reaching your goals.  This can include people, and whatever skills or knowledge you already have.
